This is where you can see some of the Hittys I have carved in the past. From the small 6 1/4" to the Large chainsaw carved Hittys that now reside at the Great Cranberry Island Museum in Maine. Why did I choose to donate to this museum? This is where the actual Preble house is! Rachel used the House as a setting for the book she wrote called, Hitty, Her First Hundred Years. I think that is the best place for Big Hitty and Hitty Montana. These carvings were both carved from the pine of the Crazy Mountains here in Montana. Lets start with Hitty Montana's step by step process from log to finished doll. Then we will move on to Big Hitty. The smaller dolls will follow. At the end of the tour you will find two of my paper clay sculptures in the Black Memorabilia fashion and last, both of my very talented grandfathers.

Here I started with one solid log for the head and torso.

I carve away to find a head.

Shoulders and chest emerge.
