Big Hitty is a chainsaw carved peg wooden doll that I carved in the summer of 2005. She was donated to the Great Cranberry Island Historical Society in Maine.

The Douglas fir log we used for the torso

The Log was secured to a tree and the first cuts were made for the head and torso.

Big Hitty is taking shape.

My husband, Bernie, is preparing the lodge pole pine for Big Hitty's arms.

The legs were cut from Douglas fir logs.
